Facebook To Change It’s Company Name

Yes, you heard it right. Facebook is about to change its company name to be able to focus on the metaverse.

This decision was made known by Verge, a Big Tech company in the US.

We all know Facebook to be the most popular social media on this planet. The platform boasts 1.9 billion active users a day.

Facebook has been in the news following their outage, which lasted for more than 6 hours.

And they are in the news again, but it’s about a name change for this time.

The name change is going to happen next week, Mark Zuckerberg will brief the whole world about the name on 28th October, and this day also happens to be the company’s annual Connect conference.

There has been a lot of issues surrounding Facebook. Recently a Facebook ex-employee exposed Facebook that the platform focus on profit rather than the well being of its users.

The new name change will help the company reclaim its image from all the intense scrutiny.

Facebook is not the first company to do a name change. In 2015, Google changed its company name to Alphabet, so people knew Google was one of Alphabet’s products. That is what Facebook is also about to do.

Facebook have many platforms and companies. The Facebook group has Whatsapp, Instagram, VR glasses and many other social media platforms.

The new name that Facebook is about to give the company is still unknown, even the senior leaders in the company don’t know about this new name, but it is speculated that the new name would be Horizon.

One thing to note is that The Facebook app is not the one going to be changed. Many people think the app is the one that is going to have the name change, but that is not true.
The company in which Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram are among is what Mark Zuckerberg will change. Just like what we talked about, Google Changed its company name to Alphabet.

  • WhatsApp, Facebook, And Instagram Is Down: Everything You Need To Know (+Users React)

WhatsApp, Facebook, And Instagram Is Down: Everything You Need To Know (+Users React)

When it comes to the most used social media apps globally, Facebook tops it all, followed by Youtube, WhatsApp, and Instagram.

And now Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp are down. This has caused boredom to people, especially those that have been addicted to these social media platforms.

Not only them but those that work on this platform, there are a lot of people that make money online from Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, you can also check out money making apps in Ghana.
On Facebook, most do advertising and videos. On Instagram, it’s all about brand influencing, and when it comes to WhatsApp, people tend to buy and sell products using WhatsApp business.

Facebook was down on 4 Oct 2021, a lot of people at first thought the problem was from their date or Wifi.

The reason for the outages on the three apps is unknown, but everybody has their speculations.

Others believe the outages were caused by a whistleblower who accused Facebook of prioritizing profit over clamping down on misinformation and hate speech.

Others also believe the outage is from some servers (which we all think).

During the outage, shares on Facebook have gone down by 5.3%, making Marck Zckerbeg lose over $2 million. Users were not directed to the correct Domain Name System.

If you don’t know what DNS is, DNS stands for Domain Name System, and DNS allows web users to visit the address they want to see.

So let’s say if you search for Facebook.com, you are searching for an ip address, the DNS will then direct you to the Facebook official website.

A security expert made it known that a configuration error inside Facebook servers may cause outages.

Facebook made a post assuring their users that the issues have been worked on and will be back.

In a post, they said, “We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience,”

Also, users who log in to games and apps using their Facebook accounts have issues accessing their favorite games and apps.

When Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram went down, users went to Twitter to tweet about the issues. Others, too, decided to make fun of it.

Talking about social media, Mr. Trump is also about to launch his own social media platform called ‘The Truth’, you can click here to read more about it.

At Emmarnitechs.com, we have compiled some of the tweets concerning the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp outages.
